The early 2026 releases have been arriving steadily through January and February, and after first-look smokes on the full batch, eight have earned real follow-up attention. The market is crowded — there are more new cigar releases per year than any single smoker could keep up with — but these eight are genuinely worth your time and money. Here is what makes each one stand out.
Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado (Restock)
Technically not a new release but a restocked limited production — the Melanio Figurado has been unavailable since late last year and its return deserves a highlight. The perfecto shape concentrates the Serie V profile (Nicaraguan puro, full body, complex spice) in a way the standard sizes do not. We smoked a fresh box from the new production run and the quality is consistent with previous years: dark fruit, cedar, controlled strength, an almost creamy final third. If you missed it last year, the current stock will not last.
Crowned Heads Mil Días Robusto (New Size)
The Mil Días is one of the most underrated blends in the premium market — a Honduran puro that consistently smokes above its price point. The new Robusto size (5 × 50) slots into a more accessible smoke time than the original Sublime size, and the tighter ring gauge concentrates the blend's espresso and dark spice character in a way that aficionados will appreciate. Three smokes from the new production run showed excellent consistency and a slightly more pronounced sweetness than the Sublime, likely from the proportionally larger wrapper surface area.
Davidoff Winston Churchill The Raconteur
Davidoff's Winston Churchill line has been one of the most commercially successful premium launches of the past decade. The new Raconteur vitola — a 5.5 × 50 Robusto — brings the blend (Dominican and Honduran filler, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper) into a shorter, more intense format. First impressions are positive: the profile holds up well in the Robusto format, delivering the Churchill line's signature cedar, leather, and mild spice without the extended commitment of the larger sizes. This is a lunch-break Churchill — premium quality in under 45 minutes.
Plasencia Alma del Campo Triunfo (New Blend)
The genuinely exciting new release of the spring batch. Plasencia's Alma del Campo line uses Nicaraguan filler with a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper grown at high altitude on their Jalapa estate. The Triunfo is a torpedo shape that uses a new ligero-heavy filler blend the Plasencia family has been developing for three years. First smokes show a profile unlike any other Alma del Campo: more immediate pepper and spice in the first third, a mid-section with extraordinary depth, and a transition to sweetness in the final third that mirrors what you get from Dominican tobacco at a fraction of the price. This one has award potential.
The Plasencia Alma del Campo Triunfo is the recommendation of the batch — buy a five-pack before the reviews hit and distribution becomes difficult. The Crowned Heads Mil Días Robusto is the value pick. Both are in stock now.
